Automaton...
This plugin is gonna rock i think.

Automaton is a unique look at buffer effects, allowing you to experiment with artificial life within your DAW. With four separate effects (Stutter, Modulate, Bitcrush, and Replicate) driven by a cellular automata sequencer, Automaton is capable of adding subtle seemingly random fills and "humanizing" effects, but if you like, you can crank the sequencer up to eleven, and watch as your DAW becomes a petri dish while Automaton makes complete hay of the track you've inserted it to. » Cellular automata sequencer with host tempo-sync, five different musically useful rulesets (including a step sequencer), extensive randomization features, and a life of its own.

» Four sequencer-driven effects, including Stutter (a buffer delay for extremely short loop slices), Modulate (a self-modulating ring modulator), Bitcrush (sample rate and bit depth reduction, and our own "Error" effect), and Replicate (a special version of our Replicant effect, tuned for use with the cellular automata sequencer).

» Master section allows extensive mixing capabilities, enabling Automaton to excel at either adding subtlety (like an occasional extra hi-hat) or complete self-generating IDM madness.

» MIDI Learn for hardware control of most parameters (VST only)

Seems like Effectrix to me, but is probably a lot cheaper.

Yes and probably tighter in timing as effectrix.
Had some buffer probs with it

I started a post about this earlier... What do they mean by Cellular automata sequencer. It looks like an iphone app to me..... I hope this can take Replicant's place I wasn't to fond of Replicant to many pops and noise came from that plug.....

I just googled "Cellular automata sequencer and came across this site with many others

cellular automata as in Conway's Game Of Life algorithm.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway_game_of_life

Jitter users have been using this tech for some years now, and the monome has a Game of Life too. Really basic math made really interesting.
1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if by loneliness.
2. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding.
3. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives, unchanged, to the next generation.
4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours comes to life.

Nice find lola, but I have to say I wasn't impressed like the notes said it's missing some features. I'll have to get more info and hear more examples before I purchase. Audio Damage should have a video section on their site for their plugs. It did look like some sort of game all the white dots had to eat the colored dots. Weird!
