Why so many problems installing VSTs on my macbook?

Someone please help!

I am trying to install this:

http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/ffttools/

on to my macbook and have it show up in live. I ran the setup and see the vst in the vst folder, but I can't see it in live. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you have Live looking for the right folder in your preferences, on the Plug-In tab. Hit rescan to be sure.

My vst is in HD->Library->Audio->Plug-Ins->VST

I see fre(a)koscope.vst right in that folder, but live won't show it.

what kind of mac do you have?
if it is an intel, are you using the UNIBIN version of the plug?

That must be the problem. I have an intel mac. I guess the vst is not UB.
