Padkontrol Users: Q about the flam function

In the manual it says that the lower values of this setting will shorten the time until the second strike and that the higher values will lengthen the time. However when I set the value at the right edge at the highest, it gives more of a flanging effect than that of a delayed second strike.

Is something wrong with my Padkontrol (roll works fine) or do I not understand what the effect is supposed to do?
