OT: San Francisco, my opinion

1. Nice.
2. They drink coffee a lot. Some people carry flasks of it.
3. They are very tolerant of bad driving.
4. Alcatraz looks like quite a cool place to live I don't know what they're going on about, I think in America they exaggerate sometimes (another example, grand canyon isn't that big as far I can tell. More of a dip).
5. Wine is too expensive.
6. Haight is full of faux hippies.
7. Golden Gate park even more so.
8. You wonder where you recognise it from, its dirty Harry.

Thanks.

i thought it was nice too

wondered down around the sea front - went up the cable car and brought some junk in china town

oh and the golden gate was cool - hung out on that hill where the old fort was for an hour

it was clear and sunny too - after escaping the english summer it was pretty awsome

but yeah was only there for half a day - so i didnt see anythin really

spent most of my time in yankland up in humboldt county sampling the homegrown... nice place but god - i would die of bordom eventually

oh and it was amazingly white too
i was expecting alot more of a cosmopolitan mix like in san fran

8) would go back one day tho if its ever cheap to fly again

Here's a tip - don't waste your time on Fisherman's Wharf. It's a cheesy tourist trap.

lol allready did that - just walked up and down it - brought a dried pufferfish with stuck on plastic eyes (kinda reminded me of my brother)

that retro arcade not far from fishermans wharf was cool with all the 100 year old arcade games, music boxes and those peep show type wind up camera things..

and some very odd things in there - like an automated puppet 'opium den' machine - and this thing called 'the hanging' where basically ya see the queen hanged outside buckingham palace

that's Museum Mecanique, very cool spot.

funny to read Alex bash on hippies, the same guy who brags about going to French Laundry. seems like a helluva guy.

I think the forum's pretty over SF talk.
