Me, for now.

I have no finished (written/recorded/produced/mastered/distributed) releases done in it, however. I'm in the process of researching other DAWs to see how they compare.

I do. It does 99% of what I personally need out of a DAW. I use live as a sequencer/beatmaking tool using session view/drumracks and as a traditional DAW with arrangement view.

I've read threads where people list all the functions that Logic/Nuendo/etc. can do that Live can't, and the majority of them are not absolutely essential to me. Plus, I like to keep everything in one program, less time rewiring/transferring songs.

I've tried several multitrack apps, and Live can pull of everything that's necessary, although there are obviously things that could be improved or expanded on, as with any program.

I've gotten a chance to work with just about every DAW out there, and have found live easier to work with, as well as see everything in, and gives me most of everything I need, with the glaring exception that it could and should be more MIDI stable.

I don't, unfortunately. I use Logic for any 'serious' recording applications, and Reason when I want to cobble some quick ambient music together. Live, for me, acts more as a performance tool/instrument/ideas generator.

I'm hoping that it will come into it's own (as I learn more about it) and it can take over as the sole 'track making' utility. Although, I think Logic pips it (and always will) on the finalizing stakes... Lovely MultiPressor

I use Live for everything and its worked great for me so far... I am interested in other apps like cubase and possible Sonar (if I stay on PC), but for now Live in conjunction with all the many 3rd party software, is fully capable of producing everything.

but im guessing if there are no new features for things like UI/track management in live 8 i may start to look at some other options..

I use Live only and Zebra 2 as the only non Live plug-in.
I occasionally use my Roland JV1010 Module to complement with sounds
that I'm too lazy to reproduce in Zebra or simply Zebra can't make.
I tried other environments but Live is the one for me.
I expect to have some UI improvements in the track management area like folder
tracks (Groups like Drum Racks) and hidden tracks (I do not like to have MIDI Tracks around when I have rendered MIDI to several Audio tracks. Today I have to keep two separate Live Set into the same Project) but if they won't come it will not push me to change.

85% of our next record was recorded using Live 6 and 7.
i used other apps for multitracking drums, and there's a few songs that were started on other DAWs a few years back.

I just use live, i have a copy of logic, but i cant be bothered to learn everything again, i get by fine with live.. I've been making sounds and stuff in the real world and destroying it in ableton - so its great for me its like an effects box and a tape machine..

perfect. well, nearly. :D

I'd like to. But I can't until it has a decent timestretching algorithm for exports. The real time algorithms just don't cut it for a final mix down.

I use live for all my records. The reason being I can work very very fast in it, so I dotn feel the need to change to another DAW. The are problems/missing features with live, but I am ever hopeful that the abes will get these in future revisions.

I do use Soundforge for more complex wav editing, but live for everything else.
