Since I started working with my laptop, this has been collecting dust and needs to go to a good home, to someone who will push it way harder than I ever did. Rock solid components once I traded in my faulty stick of Corsair RAM - no BSODs. I babied it - it's pretty much brand new looking.

is the via firewire chipset stable with audiocards?

to be honest, I've never used a firewire interface with it, only PCI. I do know it's a VIA chipset because I had researched the same thing when buying my mobo.
