A Question about changing from pc to imac

Post by pixiepost » Thu Oct 09, 2008 6:37 pm

Hi
I'm changing from a pc to an imac and I'm wondering how I shift Live7.

I have the download version, do I have to contact Ableton to download again?

I also want to change from the pc version to the mac version, will be a problem with this?

Would very much appreciate any advice from those who have made the same change.
Many thanks

Pp

by now you could have tried it, found out there are no issues and never have bothered to post. ;) :P

you get two installs per serial number, you can contact Ableton and get that number extended.

you can download the application as many times as you want, it's the serial number that can hold you back.

like most of us, Ableton does not work on weekends (Berlin time), ask before Friday if you plan on trying this over the weekend.

there are no problems opening sets made on a PC with a mac and vice versa.

just be sure to bounce tracks with effects on them that are effects you don't get on Mac, or there will be a problem...you'll eventually be able to work around the problem, with something else, most likely, but the plugin swap was an issue for me waaaaay back when I first switched.
