I have Live 7 Power book, and see nothing to help me to draw a %!$@# straight line!! From one point to another.... absolutely straight.
I know this is basic, but I have tried every key variation to no avail.

Double click the automation curve to add or remove points (if you have the pen, cmd/ctrl+b first). The shortest path between two points is always a straight line - and since Live doesn't (yet?) support bezier curves - that's what you get!

like Lo-Fi Massahkah said... but, just make sure you are not clicking the little pencil icon when you're trying to do automation.

If they ever support bezier curves I will preach Ableton to the masses like its a new religion!
...maybe overkill on that statement, but it would be great if they add it.
