ALL CASH RAISED - You're a bunch of bloody legends

Post by COSM » Wed Oct 22, 2008 11:47 pm

A large part of my music project is experimenting with new was to keep powering on while still offering everything I do for free. I get a great buzz out of trying new methods to earn a living from music, without selling the main product, and thought it's time to try this next strategy.

Blatant Honesty.

I don't have enough money to upgrade to Live 7. I haven't brought anything new in a long time as most of my money goes on living costs, and now with all my gear official lost in Europe to add to the pile, most of my available funds have gone towards getting my stuff back. I need a hand.

I'm happy, and have had everything I needed in life to keep me going strong, but I have finally hit the point where I need to purchase my upgrade for Ableton, as some of the functions will speed my production up, and most of the people I teach are using it.

I’ve set up a ChipIn fundraiser so anyone you can help me if you are into what I do. I need 119USD for the basic upgrade, and any extra raised over that amount will go into purchasing the Ableton Suite (I currently don’t own any other Ableton products, but it would be a nice bit on the side).

If you want to help, but don’t have the money or means to chipin, you could pass the word onto someone who might.

You can ChipIn by clicking here.

Cheers

-Tom

Ableton should provide you with a free copy.

you may actually qualify for an education discount. i'm sure if you asked them they'd oblige. in my experience ableton have always been excellent at offering discounts to educators.
the current education upgrade price from 6 to 7 for the download is $79US

Just a hint: If you don't want your postal adress to be revealed to Mr. Cosm then make sure you chose a fake adress when transmitting the money via Paypal. ;)

Uha, I just noticed that comments use the full real name even. Not good... not only because so many people on this forum despise me, but also because I was once googled and phoned by someone I didn't expect because my data was publically available on one single website. The interweb makes it hard to keep your data in your own pocket.

$5 was the least I could do. not much, but if everyone does $5 you'll get there.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
