upload problem

Hey I just began to mix and can't work out why when I upload my music, theres no sound in result what so ever. I noticed the master doesnt change the general volume any more. I set my audio tracks to ext in(1)and ext out(1/2) and my MDMI to all ins and ext out (1/2), I use the MMEDirectX for input/output audio as the ASIO makes my live crash. Help me please !
