So I am gonna be there for a few days at the end of the month. What's the music scene like? Any interesting clubs or places to go?

Late answer but better then noting, like you allready know by now probably, there is a scene for a lot variation in styles of music. A good meeting place is the music center "trix" in antwerp. with a cafe and lot of amateur and pro musicians passing by you can always find a good talk.
