Hey guys, I'm new to live but I've been using Reason since 2005 and know it inside out, I currently live in Rathfarnham, so I would love to play live, but I'm a lot younger than most people would think, so that's kind of a drawback.

Lads I'm sure we can get something sorted. I know a couple of lads who would be into it, and some of the crew from boards.ie music production section would definatly come along too.

Even if the first workshop only had 15 people, it would be a first step taken.

I think the question is now where and when to have it, and what sort of format it should take.

TItancow - Surely you have school discos or house partys with your friends. Hopefully you can get something going soon.
By the way its probably not wise to have your msn addy public here. Its a music site but theres still plenty of freaks. Take care.

(search ref- xyz)

This thread has been here 3 years so a meet up is long overdue!

So does anyone know a good pub in town where we could comandeer the basement for a couple of hours some weekend afternoon?
Preferably somewhere centreal, with a modest soundsystem of some sort.

What would you guys be interested in?

Demonstrations of Live 8 and how people use it with various bits of hardware?
Or just get together and chat about it all over pints?

Maybe we could organise a midweek Ableton Live night for some time in May/June - basically as soon as the APC40 is shipping and a couple of us have one. We geek out from 5-8, then get drunk later with DJ'ing, friends etc.

Just putting some suggestions out there. Who's down?

I would be up for something, but this thread looks pretty dead to me. Also, I now have a wee baby girl, so my days of socializing over laptops are pretty much numbered im afraid!

Anyone know a good pub in town with a PA in the basement/upstairs, and open to a bit of midweek geekry? Or better yet, anyone in cozy with a publican somewhere?

One idea I had was The Gingerman pub there behind Trinity, - They have an upstairs part which you can book for groups during the week. Their sound system is ok as far as I remember.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Condra,

Wanna meet up before the gig?

This is as good a time as any to get a Users Group up and running.

I'm from Galway but I'll make it over for the day.

I'd be on for taking turns alternating between Galway and Dublin for meet ups.

An Irish Live Users Group?

I've asked a pub in Athenry about using their upstairs and they are cool with it. Athenry is beside train station so travelling would be easy enough (from Galway City and Dublin) and if anyone wants to crash on my floor that would be cool with me.

I'm talking about it being really small and informal to start (considering it has taken so long for a Dublin group to get off the ground) later we can worry about places with better PA etc.

Anyways we could discuss all this.

What say ye?
