CHICAGO live users and hoe recordists, a question!

Post by ohiowa » Sun Jan 07, 2007 9:18 pm

I'm currently doing a bunch of planning and logistic research into opening a storefront in chicago based on home recording/electronic music/sound art. Would you Ableton users be excited about a locally owned community oriented shop that would do workshops and potentially be a small (50 person capacity at most) venue focusing on electronic and avant garde musics?

just thought i'd see what you locals think.

i meant HOME recordists, not Hoe recordists, although that's interesting in it's own way.

Hi

I'm in Albany Park(North side).

I would love to hook up with other Live users. Always wanting to learn more.
Have a small home studio: work with several old analog synths within Live 6.

Please keep me posted.

Where exactly in Chicago? I live in NW Indiana, about 45 mins. from downtown. Would definitely travel an hour to check it out and meet w/ others...

That sounds great. Hope it works out though b/c the professional audio business is pretty cutthroat here. My buddy runs Audiolines (audiolines.com) and their brother(s) own the direct competitor, Midwest Stereo. I've worked at Audiolines for a bit to know that it's not an easy business.

I know some avante garde circuit benders here that do shows all the time around town. I'd be happy to put you in touch with them.

I wish you the best.
