The all new london Users Group

Post by kyleweb » Tue Jul 24, 2007 1:27 pm

I have tried to message most of you who were involved in the previous meets about resurrecting this and though it would be best to consolidate it all into a thread.

From the sounds of it we easily have enough interest to get something sorted out and hopefully if it does transpire then I should be able to book a collective into one of the nights I am involved in.

So how about we get some suggestions on dates/locations for an initial meet/jam.

Anyone else who is interested as well please get involved!!!

Might be best to propose a date and see who can make it

Maybe central London so it is accesible for the most possible people

Central London +1

esp. if the meetup is going to be in the middle of the week, and people are commuting to central-ish anyway.

Otherwise, what stejonesfc said.

Central seems like a good idea.

If it's central I'm also cool. Live in Shoreditch so happy to go as far as the west end. Was on my way to go down to Putney last time round, but something came up and didn't have time to travel all the way down there.

Might be able to shmooz a venue this side of town if enough peeps are up for it.

If enough interest is shown I think we should look at putting something on around a month from now.

Someone start throwing dates around...

I work down in croydon but happy to come up somewhere central midweek.

How would something like Aug 19th sit with everyone. Just throwing it out randomly so shoot it down if you want.

Aug 19th is not midweek :)

But anyway, that date wouldn't be too bad for me.

I only have a few contacts in the east end, but have been to a few events around Soho. I suppose that would be a good place to start looking as there are plenty of litte bars that have good sound systems. That pub on the corner of Beak str and Lexington str has a decent basement, or there are places like Thirst or the Player, but I don't know if their Sundays are busy.

perhaps for the first meet it may be worth forgoing setting up to a sound system and jsut having a general sit around with laptops and share any tips/experiences and perhaps a chance for a few questions of the more experienced.

Also be a good chance to jsut get a beer in and meet some new people.

Just a suggestion however and as I have never been to this sort of thing feel free to jump in.....
