Shopping in New York

Post by jlarrucea » Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:06 am

Hi,

I'm travelling from Europe to New York tomorrow and I would like to make some shopping. Do you know any good shop in New York for music equipment (hardware synths, midi controllers, etc.)?

Thanks in advance!!!!

eBay

Craigslist

but for real,

You can check out Guitar Center by Union Square. There's also SamAsh which is near Rockafellar Center.

Turntable Lab was already mentioned, its tiny but its in a neighborhood that you will probably wanna check out anyway if you are visiting.

For vintage gear and stuff that's no longer produced: Check out Armen's and there's another shop located in the building just above called Rogue Music (google them). They're near Herald Square.

For the most part, NYC is not known for being cheap. So all of the above mentioned places are pretty overpriced in my opinion. Armen's is kind of an exception since he sells, repairs, and inspects rarities, you can bargain (somewhat) but he's still kind of a pirate.
