Two/three big problems I've had so far with 8.0.1

Post by aqua_tek » Sun Apr 05, 2009 8:56 am

1) SLUGGISH performance. I first noticed that Live would slow down/speed up at random during playback, and I would also get some accidental glitching noise. I "fixed" this by increasing my buffer size. I'd never had this problem with Live 7.

2) Virtually unusable plugins, such as Virus Control. Live rendered my Virus TI virtually useless during a session earlier tonight. Tons of problems with Virus Control, including sync issues, extra sluggish update rate, and more.

3) actually related to #1, so I don't know if it should be a bullet point on its own. Anyways, after a while, live became simply unresponsive. I'd click on a button or try to increase/decrease knob/fader values and it would take forever and a day to actually show up. Hell... even menu tasks, such as "save" and others, took an eternity. Basically everything on the interface was screwed and reacted in an extremely delayed fashion. I felt like I was taken back to my Pentium II days.

Still having problems with the Virus, aqua tek?

I ask because the TI is pretty central to my work and if it isn't working right there is no point in me upgrading yet. :(

Still problematic. I mean, it seems to be a random bug that's been hitting a few people. Not everyone. So I wouldn't dare say that you'd have the same problem.

I'm just going to wait until 8.0.2 or 8.0.3, and will stick to using 7.0.14, which works flawlessly for me

I'm noticing the sluggish performance issues too. All it takes is about 5 channels of stuff and live is up around 60% cpu usage and going up and down all over the place and giving me audio dropouts. I dont remember it being this bad before

same here... more sluggish than L6. selecting, duplicating audio, it all takes a bit more time. quite annoying cause i like to work fast. i hope an update will fix this.
