Transpose knob-midi control

Post by kinesphere » Tue Jun 30, 2009 10:49 am

hello

I recently got to Live 7.
The question is about the midi behaviour of the transpose knob on the clip view.
I realised that in this version the midi mapping on this knob, affects all other transpose knobs if I select the respective clip.
I had a look on the forums, but I didn't realy get a clear idea on what's happening with this.
So...is there a way to map on one transpose knob only?
thanx in advance

Hi, while the midi assignment applies to all clips, changing the value should only affect the transpose setting of the currently selected clip. At least that's how it works in L8. What version of Live 7 are you using?

I would also like to voice my concern over this MIDI mapping function.

It seems that if you MIDI map only one clip transpose parameter, that MIDI knob will start transposing every clip that is selected. This can a serious problem if you are firing off many different clips. Also, why is there no Minimum and Maximum setting allowed??

You simply can't control the 8 octave transpose tool with much accuracy with most sliders and encoders.

Thanks folks!
