Is plug-in buffer size in addition to audio buffer size?

Post by alexaaz » Mon Aug 17, 2009 5:20 am

Hi,

I haven't been able to shake the feeling that I get more latency in Live when playing virtual instruments than in Logic. Is plug-in buffer size in addition to audio buffer size? In Live's FAQ it suggests turning down plug-in buffer size for plugins if you're finding too much latency so this would seem to suggest it is.

And do Live's plugins count or is this only for VSTs/AUs?

Thanks,

Alex

Hello,

You should set the plug-in buffersize in almost all cases to "as audio" - the reason why we have an
adjustable plug-in buffer is that some DSP cards require a x2 etc. buffer.

The audio buffer/latency should be set according to the Live lesson.

Best,
Christian

Thanks, that's how I have it set. So total buffer size is equal to audio buffer only?
