I ripped a DVD to an m4v video and have it loaded into Live so that I can sample audio from it. It's a full-length movie so the video is long, nearly two hours and the file size is around 1.4 gigs.
My system is a new MacBook Pro, 2.8 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 gigs of ram and 2 Nvidia video cards.
When playing back the video in Live it brings my system to a crawl, causing the video and the Live interface to hang frequently. My CPU meter spikes all the way up. However if I just play the video in VLC or Quicktime, there is no CPU spike and everything is fine.
Any ideas on what's going on and if there's a way to fix it? Thanks!
