v7.0.16 multiband compressor patch change issues

Post by infuzion » Mon Nov 16, 2009 6:57 am

In Live7, I get a show-stopper bug when I change patches in 2 mulitband compressors.

Equinox http://www.kvraudio.com/developer_chall ... hp#dc09_51
Whenever I change a patch with Equinox, the CPU jumps to 66% & I get no audio unless I bypass this effect. Editing the default patch does not have this issue. Loading a saved set with this plugin does not have this issue either. Note that I've only fully tested this plug in the Master channel, & same issue if it is the only VST in that channel. Also, since I'm very well versed in the program to make Equinox, SynthMaker, the Equinox's author lent me the source code to see if I could isolate the bug. I did find a related bug in the source for Equinox1.0.4 (unreleased as of now); 6 of the parameters' names were the same. I fixed those, & updated the "Program Manager" (manage/save/load all the parameters for the patches & banks within the plugin), & exposed the Program Manager to the GUI, & made a bank that had all clones of the initial patch. When I changed the patch, either using the internal patch changer or Live7's, I got the same exact bug as before.

Reaper's reaxcomp http://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/index.php
Works fine until I load a saved patch then Live7 crashes: "A serious program error has occurred". Tested mostly in the Master channel, but seems to happen in other channels.

Reaxcomp & Equinox patch changing work fine in the latest MuLab.
Not yet tested in Live8.

Thanks for your time!

It has been 2 months since this post, & I've also emailed 2-3 times, & still no response. I'm sorry, but this is not good customer service.

Can anyone else repeat the same problem please, or have any advice?

Took 2 months, & 2 weeks after my resend, but I finally got a human reply & a case number: Case ableton330917.
Upgrading to 7.0.18 didn't make a difference it seems.
