Occasional One Bar Lag When Launching Clips?
Hi all,
For some reason when I launch clips in one particular track in a DJ set I've noticed that there's an occasional lag in the sound coming. I'll launch the clip normally, it'll play and the tracking bar will move across the waveform, but sound lags and comes in a bar after I launch the clip, or one extra unit of quantization than it should. This happens maybe one third of the time. It's really getting to me as I'd hate for this to happen live in the next few weeks. Any Insight?
Edit: During this one bar lag, no audio signal comes through. The level indicator on the track remains at zero.

Does it still happen if you set the Global Quantisation to "none"?

I can only test it so many times but it doesn't seem to.

Anyone have any ideas? Kinda causing serious problems with performance
Re: Occasional One Bar Lag When Launching Clips?
it does sound like it could be about quantization. what's your time sig?
how are you launching your clips?
i launch with midi and for me, sending the message just slightly before the barline works best.

It's in 4/4 and I'm either launching the clips manually by clicking them with the mouse or using the novation Launchpad. Happens in both instances. Very peculiar that it's restricted to this one track.

Other things to check:
- clip launch quantisation is correct?
- clip start marker is correct?
Otherwise: are you running Live 8.1.1 or higher? Since this version I have had some problems with playback jumping to the wrong place for one loop period.

Yeah, those settings are all correct and I'm running 8.1.1. Good to hear someone else is experiencing this... so it's presumably just an irresolvable bug for the moment? That's terrible.
Re: Occasional One Bar Lag When Launching Clips?
If you can reproduce it on a specific clip/track, it would be worth contacting support with the set that causes it...

Yeah it's just the particular track; I'm gonna call them up in a few days and see if they have any ideas for me. I'll post the results here then.
