options.txt in windows 7 doesnt work?

dear people,
I installed cubase vst32 on my windows 7 computer to open some old projects, and I get the old "running out of
channels" problem.
I created an Options.txt file with a "-ReWireChannels=2" in the Roaming/.../preferences folder to reduce the rewire channels.
but this has no effect to cubase, it still shows 64 ableton live buses.
what can I do?

Maybe try to run Live as admin.

got it to work: options.txt goes into C:\Users\YOUR-WINDOWS-USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 8.1.3b2\Preferences

obviously change Live 8.1.3b2 to the version you're using

needed the fix myself for Reaktor keyboard input

did I write it wrong?

don't know, i only use "-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins" (without the quotation marks) and that one works
