Key Mapping Doesn't Work?

Post by estevan carlos benson » Sat Mar 27, 2010 4:48 pm

I've actually had this issue since the beginning of using Live but I've ignored it for the time being. I get very inconsistent results when mapping keys in a project. For example I will have a key trigger a clip. It will work. A while later it will no longer trigger that clip. Just right now, I've mapped several keys to clips. Two of the clips are triggered. The others do not respond although there is notification in the top right that a key has been pressed. All clip settings are the same.

Dunno if you've tried this already or not... but make sure the "Computer MIDI Keyboard" button in the upper-right is turned off.

If it's on, then your keymapped buttons are being picked up by it and not used for mappings. For example, in your .als that you sent, Q would work fine, but W and E would not, until I turned this off.

Hope this was it!

Well damn. I had no idea. I've never even looked into that keyboard icon. Thanks.
