Pitch Bend Automation Bug

Post by ionic » Sun Mar 28, 2010 4:49 am

When you automate a tracks pitch bend in arrangement view, sometimes after the pitch bend occurs it was shift all the notes to that pitch where its not supposed to be regardless of where you are in the song.

I think that's because the pitch bend automation is in the MIDI clip, not in the actual time line. When you go from
automation to no automation, Live remembers the last state, and I agree - it's quite frustrating. I did make a feature
request on this a long time ago, suggesting that with certain parameters - pitch bend being the most salient - there should
be a feature that returned the parameter to its default state when there is no automation. In fact, you should be able to
define an arbitrary default state for every single parameter you're likely to automate.

Frustrating indeed!

Ableton should come up with something like sporkles suggested.

every time I do pich automation I have to do workarounds because of this,, eg make an empty midi clip whit some pitch automation so that it comes back to 0 (+ still unsure that it actually does :S),,,,, its annoying me a lot.
