Not enough memory to open set

Post by thefunktopus » Wed May 19, 2010 8:53 pm

I was working on a rather large set and got this message when I tried to open it this morning. Is there anything that can be done?

Tweak your OS startup processes, i.e. turn off stuff that you don't need on that could be eating up some of the memory. Check your swapfile size and increase it (an option). If on windows, what version? There is TweakXP and I think now a TweakVista site. There are places online that show what you can/shouldn't turn off. Google is your friend :D

I changed my startup settings so no applications are opened on startup. Not sure how to increase my swapfile size, and a google search resulted in a greater headache.

Any other suggestions?

By the way, I'm on a macbook pro if that helps.
