a serious programm error has occured live will shut down

I am on Windows 7 64 bit 8gig ram.
Ableton 8.1.3 and lates m4live
Time to time i am not able to open certain live projects anymore with no obvious reason.
That is really strange - worst case scenario you play somewhere and the liveset is corrupt.
Why does this happen. Hasve others experienced the same thing?
any ideas?

i tried to open it on a different computer which was possible for some of the projects and saved it under a different name.
but it couldtn be opend on the other computer still...

i suppose the problem is an audio effect rack containing a reaktor patch which seems got corrupt (i wonder how this could get corrupt without changing the file?).
is there a possibility to deactivate certain things before startup? so you could open the live project without the corrupt things?

my computer which is a dell studio xps, same specs as yours does this every 10-15 mintues! i wouldnt attempt to play live with it unfortunately. Ive emailed etc with noooooooo answer. ABLOETON HAS THE WORST SUPPORT IVE SEEN FROM GROCERY STORES TO APARTMENT MANAGERS. LOLOL

IT WORKED FINE WHEN I USED A (*&^%$# VERSION UNTIL I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD PURCHASE, SPENT NEARLY $1000 CAUSE i LIKED THE PRODUCT AND NOW THAT ABLETON HAS MY MONEY, IVE GOTTEN NO HELP OR ANSWERS OVER THE LAST YR.

FUCK IT!

MAY GO BACK TO STRICTLY MPC AND PROTOOLS BUT I DO LOVE THE ABLETON PROGRAM ETC. JUS SEEMS LIKE THEYRE CONTENT ONCE THEY HAVE A PROGRAM SOLD TO YOU WHICH IS SAD

About the same thing here.

My system running; Ableton live 8.1.4, on windows 7 64 bit (french), with 8 gig of ram.

And I LIVE with this frequent message " Une erreur sérieuse c'est produite, le programme doit fermer.. "

This message appear, when I open certain live projects.

A bug report was send.


I really, really, like Ableton Live and hope it will support windows 7 64 bit.

I'm using Ableton Live 8.2.1.

A funny thing is that the system behaves more stable when I'm connecting my Akai APC 40 (even that I don't realy use it in arrengement view).

Several crash logs been sent to Ableton but nothing yet.

Pleae, develop the (x64) version, It's been a year since I don't get a propper use of Live, and I upgrade my computer and O.S. to use Live better!

You must consider that every new Windows based laptop is using Windows 7 and those with the cutting edge specs are just running in 64 bits.

I have exactly the same problem. can not open many of my live-sets after installing windows 7 64bit.
Have lenovo t500, with 8 Giga Ram and run Ableton 8.2.2.
Even now when i upgraded to the ableton suite the same problem is
Have already wrote to the ableton support two times. the first time the support told me to rename the vst folder. and then open the live sets and remove all of the plugins....but this way will destroy work of years!

I still wait for the second answer from ableton...

mm i'm having this also from time to time, especially corrupt sets and crashes. also win 64.
mine is updated to the latest "stable" version and so are all my drivers etc.

HI i was experiencing the same error... uninstalled and re installed ableton many times... and it just didnt worked... finally i had this message from win7 to install some updates... i did installed the service pack 1 and after that my ableton worked just fine... try it next time it occurs... go to you win7 update manager and get the updates...
