My set contains around 1.000 clips.
In the session view I moved a clip (MP3 audio file of 18 MBytes) from one slot to another while the set was playing back.
And then Live crashed.
My System:
Mac OSX 10.6.2 Snow Leopard
Live 8.1.3
RME Fireface 400
This happened 2 times.
Any idea what might be wrong? I already sent the bug report to 'bugs@ableton.com'.
Regards
Nico

Re: Crash while moving a clip within the session view
Hello,
Our developers will analyze your reports but if you have a ~1000 Clip set, i recommend to
check your activity monitor for memory consumption etc.
- make sure your machine has some resources left.
Best,
Christian

Re: Crash while moving a clip within the session view
Hi Christian
my machine is a Macbook Pro 2.53GHz, 4 GB of RAM and the CPU usage is at 11% while playing back 8 tracks at the same time.
Sometimes this monitor for disk lights orange for some miliseconds.
Regards
Nico

Re: Crash while moving a clip within the session view
Re: memory and lots of clips.
I have found that the ghost transient markers in clips can end up taking up quite a lot of memory. I had a set that used a lot of small clips pointing to a large file and all the hundreds of transient markers in very clip added up to a huge amount. If they're not in use you can delete them from the clips. Might not be related to what's happening here but thought I'd mention it.
