Slice to New Midi Track issue

Post by spkey » Fri Jun 25, 2010 10:16 pm

Hi all,

Not sure if this is a bug or normal behaviour but this is the issue:

I'm creating a beat with my microphone.
I then Slice to new MIDI track using the Built-in slicing preset. I can then double-click on a slice on the drum pad (drum rack) to access the particular slice for further refinement.

However, if I use another slicing preset such as Compressed Beat (Reverb), accessing particular slices becomes impossible. When I click on an individual pad it says Multisamlple Mode in Simpler.

It seems that only the "built-in" preset is non-destructive.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks

If you have Sampler, you can try Simpler->Sampler from the menu and the waveforms should become visible. Multisample mode in the simpler doesn't mean there is anything destructive going on; Simpler sometimes shows that view even when only a single sample is being referenced by a slice. I'm not sure why, the workings of the multisample mode in Simpler isn't documented very much.
