impulse recording

i have a i second sample lined up in impulse,when i trigger it its output is shown in the master output.how do i make this in2 a midi clip?.how do i record this in2 the arrange view?.cheers guys

you cant make an audio file into a midi file in live... you need to use another program such as amazing midi.. you dont need to record that clip to get it in arrange view, you just drag the clip onto the top right hand corner to switch views and then drop it into a audio track..

you really should read the manual...

How about:
Insert Midi clip in the top menu - then draw what ever you like in the midi note editor

or..
Select keyboard octave C3 to D4 by hitting "z" or "x" on the keyboard, then arm recording on the track, hit F9 (record) and record your midi by pressing "a,s,d,f,g,h,k" on your keyboard
