Hi,
I've been running ableton smooth for some time now, but recently(the last 2 days) its first experienced audio drop outs + now the program slows to a halt.
I have a 3 month old Macbook Pro. The only time this has happened was:
The dropouts occurred yesterday after I setup my Profire as an aggregate device, and the slow down occurred today when I started up ableton and began to work.
Thanks for your help,
Matt
Ableton slows down when M-Audo Profire interface connected.
Re: Ableton slows down when M-Audo Profire interface connected.
Hi Matt,
does the problem occur also when you´re using the ProFire with the latest native driver for the device, not as an aggregated device? Depending on the hardware/drivers in use, the OS X aggregated device feature might not always function flawlessly. You might try, if selecting another clock source in the aggregated device editor improves performance here. I would also recommend to contact M-Audio support in regards of their recommendation for the ProFire and the aggregated device feature.
Best,
Jörg
