cmd-drag selection in Arrange still broken (OSX)
cmd-dragging a selection in Arrange (so the snap is bypassed) still doesn't work correctly in 8.1.6b3
the problem is that the start of the selection still snaps to the grid, even though the cmd-modifier should disable all snapping, as it does correctly in the clip edit view.
surprised no-one else seems to be bothered by this..?

cmd dragging midi notes off the grid doesn't work for me in the midi clip piano roll either (also osx)
Re: cmd-drag selection in Arrange still broken (OSX)
Please try the following:
- make selection
- start dragging with mouse
- press cmd
-> snap to grid should be disabled
Alternatively you can press cmd+4 to disable snap to grid.

Marian

Re: cmd-drag selection in Arrange still broken (OSX)
thanks marian, but the start of the selection is still snapped to the grid no matter what you do, unless you turn off the grid. but whole point of the cmd modifier is you don't have to turn off the grid.
like i said, this works fine when selecting a portion of audio in the clip edit view, and i've been told that it is a bug/fault in the mac version's Arrange by an abe support chap via email before now, but still no fix to the behaviour.
so is it a bug? i don't have a pc to try the windows version out so can't compare the 2

Re: cmd-drag selection in Arrange still broken (OSX)
Ah, sorry! Now I understand. I've thought that the problem appears when dragging selected clips...
The problem behind this issue is that the insert marker can't be set to a position off the grid. Which indeed is a bug on Mac (it works correct on Windows). This results in a strange behavior when making a selection.
This bug is already filed and hopefully we can provide a fix soon!
Thank you for your report!
Best Regards,
Marian
