If you haven't yet, please send reports of your crashes, along with an email message including which computer you are on and which OS you are using, to support@ableton.com.

I sent those info allready !
no news since... and I see that other users are complaining :-(

So do you any officiel ableton communication about those crashes ?
my issue is that immediately after installing the new release -> I got crashes. so I am loosing trust in your tool.

I love your tool since a long time but really since ableton 8.x I got many issues (many bugs that I never got before .. Ableton Live 7 was excellent and I regret having moved from version 7 to version 8 )

Everything seems to work with mine pretty well, using The Bridge and such, however Ableton 8.2 crashes when I drag a video from a Finder window, into an audio track. Anyone else having a similar problem? :?

how come the bug reporter implemented by ableton themselfes wants to send to the crash email, when everytime you get a reply on the forum about a crash from ableton themselfes they always want you to send it to the support?
it is confusing to say the least.

I'm running OSX 10.5.8 with the original mbox. Live 8.2 Crashes when I select the MBOX as the audio hardware. Yet it works just fine in Live 8.1.3.
I've sent the crash report to crashes. Any suggestions?

"still on 7 here. Will they ever get 8 stabilized?"
If you've never used 8, then what are you talking about? 8 has numerous useful tools that make it worth upgrading to. It has its bugs but so did 7. How was your comment helpful or even though provoking? Did you honestly expect someone to say something like "June 12, 2011"?

Not every crash is a bug. They want to collect data so they can see trends that are happening in the software and be more proactive in problem solving rather than waiting for the forums to flood. It's a smart idea and it shows Ableton's trying hard to make sure they are as stable as possible.

Helo ScottV,

I understand that your reply is not for me ;-) but for the guys speaking about "Will Ableton company ever get 8 stabilized".

HoweverAs I am working in a CODE DEV team, I would like to answer about the DEVELOPEMENT of Code at large: I would like to pinepoint the fact that in dev team, you usually use DEV Code Quality Processes in order to release a code that won't usually crash (I am speaking of crashes not bugs).

The fact that Live8 contains more functions doesnot excuses the bugs/crashes (I put priority on crashes rather than bugs which I can live with). If you look at the forum, I noticed that since Ableton 8 is released a lot of people are complaining, even the boss of Ableton mentionned it in a video - This is very courageous of this guy and this is why I continue to trust Ableton company - But release 8.2 disappointed me : A soon as i installed the new version -> Crash. And to be honnest, the support team never answered to me yet!

All these issues may show that the DEV team doesnot control the version 8(code is too big?)...

For me Live 7 had less bugs but less functionality's :-( On the other hand, I never experienced a crash with Ableton Live 7.
For the crashes report - you are right. Excellent point again about Ableton Live Company.

Don't take my comment badly or criticism .. I like Ableton Live. but really, those issues reduce the trust I have in this tool and I am looking at Maschine from NI. I will try it by the end of month (not before because I am sure ableton live will release something before ;-) ) ...

Cheers!
