Hi,
I was playing a live set yesterday night which made the audio to completely freeze for some seconds, and then start again with a lot of glitches. During the audio breakdown I had locked the cpu to 2 GHz with coolbook, so I was worried that it could be some overheating problem, but the computer seems ok.
After several reboots and cold boots I still get audio glitches now and then in my sets, even in older sets that are light on the cpu. I have tried the internal soundcard on my macbook as well, and I get the same problem. Especially when I stop playback I get these glitches almost every time. I've looked after console messages but have not find any tracks. I've also tried the new Live 8.2, and here I also get audio issues.
The system spec is:
Macbook, OS X 10.6.4
2 GHz Core 2
2 GB RAM
250 GB WD Harddisk
Ableton Live 8.1.4 & 8.2
Phase X24 firewire soundcard
It's really annoying as it's hard to know where the problem is. System audio from the OS is working fine though. I will boot an old installation with Tiger and try with Live to see how it goes as well.
cheers
Since yesterdays crash my live sets get audible glitches

Re: Since yesterdays crash my live sets get audible glitches
I tried the same live set now in Tiger 10.4.11 with Live 8.2, and I still have audio pops/glitches (cpu load is about 67% in activity monitor). However, there is no audible glitches when I stop playback, as in Snow Leopard.
Maybe it could be the harddisk, or some hardware bus that was overheated during the crash, but it shouldn't work partly then.
