Problems assigning MPD32 fader to Master Crossfader??

Post by oneway » Mon Nov 01, 2010 11:24 pm

The only way I can explain my problem is by simply saying what I want to do.......I have an MPD32 which only has vertical faders, and I want to assign one of those faders to the Crossfader. When I attempt to do this.....I get 3 purple boxes around the crossfader! Hard Left, Hard Right, and Center. I wasn't getting this problem before. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

Did you try assigning the fader to the center parameter?

yes, and the transition isn't smooth. I thought it had to do with the Curve of the X fader. I can't figure out how to get rid of the 3 purple boxes all together?

So you've got a fader mapped to the center (and only the center) of the crossfader - what is it doing? Also, make sure you didn't accidentally map it to one of the sides.

I just mapped the center position of the crossfader to a slider on my MPK49 (I'm pretty sure they're the same as the MPD32 faders) and I have great control. I get 50 "ticks" to the left and 50 more to the right so it's quite smooth and accurate.

I have to say that I did not have any problems doing this before, can you post some screen shots so we can get to the root of the problem?

So now its working, very weird. I assigned it to a rotary knob and it worked, then went back to the fader and it works. Still feels a little stiff though with the fader. When I cross the Center Point it feels as if it snaps to it. Thanks again guys. Hope it continues to work. I honestly dont know what I did wrong in the first place.
