Novation X-station alternative

After 3 years my friend has asked for his XStation.

Except for latency, I have been really happy with the machine, so I am considering buying one.

My only doubt is that it is an old model and out of production, but there are still some new units available in stores, and there seem to be.

Does it work well with Windows 7?

Can you think of a substitute for this combo?
I use it for its audiocard, phantom mic, keyboard, volume knob.

Are you able to test your mate's X-station on your setup under Win7? That's probably going to be your best answer right there, specific to your hardware and usage.

No. And I am not going to use seven until my next daw, not too soon.

Any Xstation users here?

I use one, but still on Vista Ultimate 64. I'm trying to hold off on 7 until SSDs get down to $1/gig.

The X-Station works fine with Window 7, even with the 64 bit version. Also the Xio works fine if someone is interested in that as well.
