You need to record your audio to a new track so as to record the applied fx. For example: let's say you have a vocal loop on track one with some fx and you want to capture the loop with the applied fx. Make sure you are in session view (tracks are in vertical rows)
1. Setup another audio track
2. Set that track to monitor in
3. Set audio to on track one to audio 2.
4. Press record enable on track 2
5. Click on a a little circle in any empty clip on track 2
The clip will capture the vocal with applied fx. Your loop will be saved in your project folder as a .wav.

Or... Much easier: Freeze (and if necessary, Flatten). I tend to just freeze, then grab the audio file from the project's samples directory.

Interesting. What's this flatten feature you speak of?

Once you have frozen a track, you can flatten to make it permanently audio. Frozen tracks can be unfrozen to revert to midi and regain control. Flattened tracks cannot be unflattened.

great, thanks!!! question tho: why would you want to flatten a track in the first place? also, how do you freeze tracks that are grouped (if I right click to freeze on the group it won't let me)?

You can't freeze grouped or side-chained tracks as they are routed to/side-chained from other tracks. You would need to use my method in thus case.

If you flatten, then you just have a plain audio track and you can apply additional fx or processing. If the track's frozen, you can't.
