Preferences - Audio Help

Hey guys. What's up?

I have some simple questions about setting up audio in Ableton. I know it will sound stupid but i don't get it. There are certain things that i need to know and i can't do it on my own. So how do you properly set up the audio? Since , i don't have a decent soundcard i need to use the ASIO4ALL right? The MME/DirectX sucks right? And the buffer size and the inputs and outputs? What happens there and how many do i need or how to set them right? So , you see a lot of simple questions , only that i'm that dumb , that i don't understand. Please help me out here. I need a good/easy understanding explanation please.

Also , what soundcard to get? Internal/external?

If you go to the help view in Ableton and open up the lessons, there should be one that walks you through setting up all of that stuff.

Yeah , i know. That's why i'm asking. I need some person to help me out. I want to understand more than the manual offers me...

Are you doing the lesson though or reading the manual? There was a lesson that I did that went through setting all of that stuff up correctly.
