Is it possible to use a drum rack where the pads map to a single instance of a plugin (I'm using Microtonic from SonicCharge). It seems that all I can create is a rack with as many microtonics as there are pads.
I've also read the ableton manual but it confused me more than it helped in this regard.
Thanks to anyone who has an idea.

What you can do is set up a group of tracks, and have each output from one instance of µTonic go to a different one of the Group Tracks. This way, you get the separate mixer channels and effects chains for each sound.
As to mapping a pad controller, if you arm the MIDI track with µTonic for MIDI input, you can use a pad controller to trigger the drum sounds. Not sure what the mapping would be for that.
