DJing tunes

Post by dratha » Thu Jan 20, 2011 6:05 pm

I am trying to dj with ableton now, when i load up the tracks, i delete all the warp markers bar one, which i set on the first beat of the tune, and round the tempo of the clip up or down instead of having 139.95 for instance. the tune starts off in time with the set, but as it progresses it becomes more out of time, new to djing with live not sure what to do? any suggestions?

You have to put warp markers in the entire track. If you only use one, you are basically doing nothing.

I usually use 3 or 4 markers on a track just to make sure it is tight beginning-middle-end. If that doesn't seem tight enough, I'll add even more markers between those. Consider each warp marker a reminder as to where the track is supposed to hit, and when.
