Who else *RARELY* gets crashes in Live 8??
I see so many complaints on this forum about how Live 8 crashes all the time... Well... I just don't see it.
I mean its not invincible but I get less than 1 crash every 24 hours of actual use... And that's while really slamming it with 10-20 vstis.. 50% cpu usage. To me that is totally acceptable... Hell, I don't think I've ever owned any software that *never* has crashed.. Yes, even on a mac. Actually osx had more problems than windows 7 does now (from my experience.. and im running 7 now).
However when I run using just live interal plugs it never crashes...
This is not to say that I'm a fanboy and I realize Live has a lot of problems in implimentation of certain features. I wish there were bezier curves, multiple midi routing in midi track, real PDC and .... as much as the next person.. I just don't see why everyone says Live is so buggy... Maybe it might be a problem with your VST or you have bad drivers or something...

No crashes here 99% of the time, the 1% is user error.

Crashes from time to time, but mostly doing stupid things with max4live.
Did maybe 100 gigs with live 8. Not a single crash. Or maybe 2 crashes, loading a set while the previous was running without producing sound.

Re: Who else *RARELY* gets crashes in Live 8??
I have just recently started seeing a crash that occurs when switching the routing for one of my returns on our big stage set. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with plugins, etc. Other than that, I have had Live crash on me once completely in a rehearsal, but not yet live.
That said, one crash live would be enough to really really suck...Thank god I'm not dealing with 1% crashing.

no crashes here. ableton works fine for me on my pc ,64*2 dual core 4800+ 2 gb ram
Re: Who else *RARELY* gets crashes in Live 8??
Works fine here. I've seen buggy VSTs crash Live a few times but that's really not Live's fault. Dragging something over Sylenth will cause a crash so that's the weirdest bug I can think of.

A couple crashes here and there in thelast year, but usually it's more an issue with audio glitches in Complex Pro mode. In terms of stability, I'd say the latest version of Live is about as stable as any other version of Live I've used.

Yep, latest version is rock solid.

I've had about one crash in the last 9 months, and I dimly remember it being my own fault.
Although, I don't use massive sample library instruments, so I dont hit the memory issue. And I don't use many Vsts outside of what comes with Komplete 6.
I don't use M4L.

I don't get crashes* - 1 in 100 sessions I maybe get a crash
* except from one particular new VST - XILS polyKB player - that crashes Live every time I try to delete it (even closing Live crashes it)

Re: Who else *RARELY* gets crashes in Live 8??
I used to get frequent crashes using u-he plugins with Live 8.2.1 on my windows 7 computer. Everytime I closed a set or tried to delete the plug-in Live would crash. I found that the reason for this was a bug in the Windows 7 file system which still exists btw.
For some reason when installing the plugins, windows would make the directory read only. Manually changing the attribute from Read Only to Read/Write would not work hence the bug. So whenever the plugin terminated it tried to write to it's settings file and could not, causing Live to crash.
I found a work around for this which is to move the directory to another drive where I was allowed to change the read only attribute to read/write and then move it back to it's original location.
I now honestly can't remember the last time that Live crashed.

Re: Who else *RARELY* gets crashes in Live 8??
Very rarely. Maybe once in the last 6 months, and that was down to Massive crashing.
Re: Who else *RARELY* gets crashes in Live 8??
since 8.2.1 i've been good. had a lot around the 8.0.5 - 8.0.8 timeframe, but lookin good now. i never used to use plugs but lately i've been using AAS Reverb, String Studio, and BBE Sonic Maximizer... i've fiddled with Delay Lama too (tons of fun)... all good, so i actually put a bit more demand on Live now then i did when it was crashing.
