FX racks chain zone select to Pre-FX?

The FX racks chain zone selector, where you can set up your chains to crossfade from one to the other---is there a way to make this pre-FX? I'm trying to set up a few chains so I can throw in a delay or reverb here and there, but the problem is that the delays and reverbs cut off as soon as I move the controller away from that chains zone. So the zone select is controlling the output of each chain---I need it to control the input so that my delays/reverbs ring out once I've moved away from that zone.
Sends won't do because I need the wet mix only and I want to scan from one FX to the next across numerous chains. Is it possible/any workarounds?

sounds like you want to put the effects in after the instrument rack.
