workflow enhancement topic (vitaminL, mousewheel zoom etc.)

Post by bubu baba » Thu May 19, 2011 6:21 am

hey
i wanted to start this topic because there is a need for faster workflow
for live. it kinda lacks a lot of workflow enhancement options which can be
found in other daws (customizable shortcuts, mousewheel zoom etc. etc)
BIG UP for tonearm (ilia) who made vitaminL , i´ve been really happy live
user because of it for year or so, but the problem is that it works only
partially in live8 and i think theres no win7 support at all.so until
tonearm makes new version of vitaminL we have to come up with other solutions
(or use win xp machines and live7 like i do :D)

so this is the topic to exchange information how to improve your workflow
in live. Share your autohotkey scripts and other tricks you have found usefull.

for those you don´t know about VitaminL and autohotkey, check these out :

http://tonearm.net/musictools/vitaminl.html

http://www.autohotkey.com/

and here is the one user who uses vitaminL and autohotkey in vista enviroment :

"Hey man, I use vista 64 on a 2560x1600 monitor. The mouse scroll zoom works for me if I keep the ableton zoom at 100%. Many of the other functions don't work but I've remapped them using autohotkeys. If you send me your email I can send you the script I run on top of vitamin l, or better still, if you copy these messages and start a new ableton post I'll put it up there. Cheers."

Hey, I'm the user mentioned in the post. My script is here:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/ain4uz

I load vitamin l first and then run this after. At my screen resolution 2560x1600 at 100% zoom in Vista 64 it fixes some of the vitamin l functions and adds some of my own.

Give it a try - I hope it works for others. I'm not sure how long the download link will remain active as it's a free sendspace account, but anyone is welcome to re-up it somewhere permanent.

Cheers.
