Sound disappears when I adjust Pitch for MIDI samples

Post by x-fade » Thu Aug 25, 2011 8:04 am

So I'll convert an audio sample into a MIDI track, so I can use the transients to make stutter/fidget effects, but the sound will always go back to it's original pitch(Beats) in MIDI. I want the MIDI sample to be higher/lower in pitch like it was in it's Re-Pitch state.
The problem is how come when I adjust the Pitch from the MIDI instruments, the sound just goes away?
If I like the way an audio sample sounds in Re-Pitch, how can I get the exact same pitch when I convert it to MIDI?

Why not get it sounding how you like with re-pitch, then record that into a new clip, then slice the new clip to MIDI?

That could work but what about the no sound when I adjust the pitch?

The MIDI Effect of Pitch simply moves the key notes up or down. When doing this, the pattern that might be playing would basically switch notes around, but not change the actual pitch of your samples.

I suggest either using Pitchbend, or possibly modwheel assignments.
