Win7+ Live + ASIO love/hate

Post by simmerdown » Wed Feb 01, 2012 5:44 pm

when its all working, i love asio4all

today...hate

occasionally i will lose my 'MuxedIn1' setting (power green, but with red X)

this is my mic jack for external instrument, the mouseover window says 'unavailable...in use by another app? wavetable synth on?', but the answer to both those questions (apparently, visibly) is NO

then...it'll work again with no effort on my part

i found XP's 'Sound' area much easier to navigate...i see no indications in 7 there about wavetable or whatever the F else is accessing my mic jack...the wording of this will betray my lack of deeper knowledge about the inner workings of the Live/asio/soundcard/whatever relationship...i just need to know how to rec when i need to

any thoughts or direction greatly greatly

You're just a thick twat.......

Actually, no you're not. What is "MuxedIn1"? Are you using an external soundcard? I've had a similar problem with my internal card on Win 7.
I just punched the fuck out of a few buttons on the ASIO config menu until it worked. No fookin' clue what I did but it works fine now. :D

This is just a sympathy reply. Hope you get it sorted.

I have had similar results with asio4all. SOmetimes it seems to work properly, sometimes it doesn't.

I hope to buy an external usb device that has ASIO drivers soon, and I hope these types of issues disappear then...

I am using window 7 from past one year. It is good then vista but not then xp. XP is the best. I don't know about asio4all. Please tell me about it.
