Deleting audio in an audio clip in session view

OK , this is a bass track that I recorded into a clip and I am working in session view. I played one too many notes on my bass and just want to delete it from the clip. I've selected the note and hit delete to no avail.

It seems I can draw my note down with draw mode but is there a way I can just select the audio and delete it without using the pencil?

Thanks I appreciate it!

select clip, copy, paste to arrangement (if you HAVE to do it in session view, this won't help)
split before and after part you want to remove
delete part you want to remove
select all parts around the part you just removed
consolidate (ctrl+j)
copy newly consolidated clip
paste in session view

if you already knew this and were looking for a way to do it in session view, I apologize

Simply set the clip as loop, adjust the loop boundaries, right-click the clip and use trim clip.
Presto you get a cut version of the clip. Switch looping off again and that's it.
If you want to keep the original clip make a copy before trimming.
