Computer MIDI Keyboard for external effect(s)

Post by Lolasaurus » Tue Feb 28, 2012 5:20 pm

I have a strymon timeline that can receive CC or note #s to activate hidden features, however I only have an audio interface and a midi cable (no midi controller).
What would be the most practical and least CPU intensive method of using the computer midi keyboard to send assigned values out to the interface (komplete audio 6).
How would I set up the interface in the preferences?
The last thing I tried was creating a separate midi track for each CC value, having "Midi to" set to the komplete, the envelope set to the CC value "x", with the pink bar on the right raised to value "x" so it knows to send the message (right?), and assigning each track a different key ("q", "w," "e,", etc.), which didn't work.
Just for reference the CC values are 85,86,87,89,90,95,96; someone said midi note #s might be easier though.
