NO ASIO with RME Hammerfall in V.1.5b2!!

Post by linski » Sun Apr 14, 2002 1:13 pm

Hi,

no way to get Hammerfall-ASIO to work; no problem with other ASIOs (DirectX etc.)nor with any of the other releases.

Any idea???

regards, linski

P.S. Surely not for the first time my congratulations for your creativity and idealism. It took a really big smile on my face to see you posting the update info at 1.30 in the morning...

Hello Linski,

Would be very nice if you can try again to open the hammerfall and sending me the logfile ("live_log.log" in ableton preferences folder) of this Live session.

I'm running 1.5b2 with a Hammerfall/ASIO setup. It's flawless for me. I'd be happy to help you out if you'd like.

Let me know,

Hi Dennis,

thanks for your reply!

Are you running WinXP too?

No, I'm running Win2k. I've found it to be substantially more stable and with consistently lower latencies than XP.

Just to make sure:

- are you talking about the Hammerfall DSP or the Hammerfall 9636/52? I'm using the older one (the 9652) and am waiting for my DSP to arrive.

- are you running the latest driver?

Yes, 9652 (latest EEPROM) with driver V.1.40

Hadn´t any problems with XP until now, so
it shouldn´t be a problem of the OS in this case.

What sync source do you use (auto-master-wordclock)? I think there is a new feature in 1.5b2 which supports external sync (but maybe i misunderstood that one)

Ok, v. 1.40 is the driver I'm using as well.

I have the sync set to Auto - it's always worked for me (I'm using a Fostex VM200 digital mixer as my converters).

Does the Hammerfall control panel indicate that it's at least receiving a sync signal? Are you sure you have the right driver selected in the Live menu (not just ASIO, but ASIO DIGI9636/52)?

ugh....I was wrong. I'm really sorry about that.

I was only running b1 - I must have thought I downloaded the update for some reason.

I've now downloaded b2 and it's not working for me either. The Hammerfall ASIO option fails every time.

hmmm....

No ASIO with RME Digi 9652 / RME DSP Multiface on Windows XP

Post by Nicholas » Mon Apr 15, 2002 2:43 pm

Guys,

I have had the same problem with both of my RME hardware setups on 2 different computers running Windows XP. B1 was fine as far as ASIO hardware goes, B2 will not function at all.

BTW, I have found the combo of Live and Windows XP absolutely rock solid with clean audio all the way down to 1.5ms latency :)
