I recently bought Live 5. Installed it , and had no problems what so ever.
Then i tried the beta version (last one, 21 I think).
But I receive an error message.
I install everything.
Click the shortcut created in the startmenu after install.
Splashscreen appears.
Live asks me to select a empty folder.
I make an empty folder , select it .
Hit Ok.
Message : The folder "G:G:\\" was not found.
Click again Ok and thats it. Im left with nothing.
At first i thought it was just a bug in the beta , but it happens also in 6.0.1 !!!
I Don't no what to do.
I removed previous versions of Live
I cleaned my register.
Also checked my harddrive.
Tried to reinstall(several times)
I allready mailed to Ableton Support but i takes to longggggg .
Maybe someone one the forum can help?
Cheers Daan .

I have the same problem on my Macbook. I eventually got Live "installed" by manually deleting everything related to Live (including Live 5!), and then reinstalling Live 6. But now I've encountered a 100% reliable crash when setting my input config. So today I've spent 9 hours screwing with Live 6 and I've yet to hear a sound out of it.

What do you exactlly mean with 'deleting everything'.I eventually got Live "installed" by manually deleting everything related to Live (including Live 5!), and then reinstalling Live 6.
Can you be more specific?
I really appreciate your help.
Because i'ts been 5 days now , and i still don't get an email back from the support team.
Here's what I did (and it was not fun): I did a search on my system for the term "Ableton" and trashed everything I found- moved everything to the trash and hit "empty.". This helped my find a few things (like prefs, etc.) I would not have noticed otherwise. Then I reinstalled Live and it sort of works... I'm having other problems with it.
The down side it that I had to reinstall Live 5 as well, since I ended up throwing it out in the process. But at least Live 5 is an easy install and works properly for me.

Hello Daan,
what happens if you start Live 6 again? Do you get the same message?
Regards, Friedemann
