live / reason sync issue

I open pulsar, then live then reason. I compose some elements in reason and want to continue adding elements in live, however I seem to get a lag each time reason loops its sequence.
I have overcome it by exporting the loop to live but I dearly want to be able to tweak reason while live is open. I have tried all sync options and still no success yet.
I am sure this is possible it\\\'s just how?
Anyone?
BTW - I think live is great, quite a tool for electronic music production
