suppose you've sampled your favourite tangerine dream 5second pad for later processing in live...
then again suppose you've added two grain delays for harmonic treatment and you're changing your harmony by automating the pitch parameter of one grain delay with the Region/Loop section of your clip in "unlinked" mode.
then you find that this act is a bit intensive for your old 1Ghz PPC G4
live 6 offers new possibilities in the field of power saving so you freeze the track because you don't plan to tweak the effects in the future
you expect your harmonic automation to be inserted in the frozen clip but it isn't.
it is not normal, is it ?
hope that it can be considered a bug, and it is reproducible.
thanks in advance,
pier luigi

This is a known deficiency of Freeze.
It currently does not yet work correctly with unlinked envelopes
in session clips. Session clips are frozen up until they reach the
loop end for the second time (you can see this after flattening).
As a consequence freeze audio diverts from the original after this point.
The only exception is if the clip loop has the same offset as the unlinked loop
and if the clip loop is a multiple of the unlinked loop.

This unlinked loop behaviour was also noticed in LIVE5 beta testing. I suppose it must be a pretty tricky fix if it hasn't made it into 6 yet.
Here's to hoping that they can figure out how to resolve the issue.
